Best view?
The view from the Eagles Nest hotel in Hunza is pretty unbeatable (see above).
Favourite dish?
The freshly baked bread made with walnut paste we had for breakfast in the Kalash Valleys was absolutely delicious but unfortunately I didn't get a photo of it. However, we were lucky enough to be visiting during cherry season, and the cherries straight off the tree were amazing.
Best night’s accommodation?
We got to stay in a few really fabulous and unique hotels on this trip. My favourite was probably with the wonderful Maqsood in Ayun Fort Inn. Once a fort under the control of the ruling family in Chitral, it has now been redeveloped into a small guesthouse surrounded by a beautiful rose garden, orchards and vegetable gardens.
Best activity?
Walking on the Hoper Glacier was a real highlight for me - the fact that we had blue skies and sunshine that day definitely helped too! I also loved catching the final of the Frontier polo competition in Chitral - an area famed for its horse polo.
Favourite moment?
Distributing photos taken by a Wild Frontiers client of the Kalash on one of our previous trips to the people of the Kalash. Their wonder and excitement was very moving.
Best souvenir?
Whilst at the Joshi Festival I was given a beautiful colourful woven sash to wear by some of the Kalash girls I was chatting to. They told me it's a traditional gift often exchanged at festivals. It felt like a very special souvenir to remember my time there.
Any regrets?
Not packing my thermals for those chilly mountain passes!

Leave any preconceptions you might have about Pakistan at home and get out there to experience it for yourself!
