Nathan's interest in travel started with a 19 month trip taking in Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Trekking to Everest base camp opened his eyes to the travel industry and upon returning to the UK (and to justify being away so long) he decided it was the industry for him. He has joined Wild Frontiers as an Asian tailor made specialist after having worked in the travel industry for over 4 years. Some of his travel highlights include:

- Climbing Mera peak in Nepal and Stok Kangri in Ladakh.
- Seeing pygmy elephants in Danum Valley, Borneo.
- Meeting a Buddhist nun in Cambodia and hearing her first-hand account of the Khmer rouge.
- Sleeping under the stars on a sand dune in the desert near Jaisalmer, India.
- Watching the sunset from a boat on Inle Lake.

BEST TRAVEL MOMENTS

Q: Favourite city?
A: Siem Reap, having studied ancient history at university it would be remiss not to mention the amazing temples of Angkor Watt.

Q: Favourite country?
A: Burma (Myanmar), simply stunning and so diverse, amazing history, natural beauty but the real star is the people. I tried leaving a tip and they sent their kids after me up the beach to give me back the money I had forgotten.

Q: Favourite meal?
A: Som Tam (Thai Papaya salad)

Q: Most memorable journey?
A: Spotting wild orangutans whist travelling by boat up the Kinabatangan river in Borneo.

Q: Favourite travel advice?
A: Eat where the locals do. The busier the better, due to the turnaround time the food is freshly prepared and there is a reason they are busy, avoid the empty western restaurants.

Q: Next on must-see list?
A: Sulawesi in Indonesia, to trek up volcanoes, dive on unexplored reefs and meet some amazing tribes, experiencing their culture and way of life.
