Hotel Histórico Central is a charming modern hotel within walking distance of main attractions such as Palacio de Iturbide Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Zocalo Square and Torre Latino. Set in tall historic city building, details of the building’s architecture have been restored whilst the interior décor is contemporary featuring colonial-style touches and decorations. Apart from the high ceilings and odd antique-style ornament that hint at the building’s past, rooms are very modern with cool laminate wood flooring, stylish wooden furniture and contemporary designs and bathrooms. Some guest rooms include private terraces and balconies that look out onto the hotel’s façade. For the best views of Zócalo, head to the sixth floor and the Balcón del Zócalo Mexican restaurant. The hotel also has a small fitness suite and steam room.
