Sean caught the travel bug after leafing through a book of travel photos and couldn’t get the image of Machu Picchu out of his head. His first trip was to Turkey, where the Chimera near Olympos made him realise that the smaller natural wonders could be as amazing as the iconic sights of the world. This has continued with his travel highlights being watching an impromptu choir in the ruins of a church in Armenia, cruising along the Chilean Fjords, scrunching (cold!) black sand between his toes in Iceland, and in Vietnam drinking with locals on a veranda during a thunderstorm.

Following on from university, Sean started working for an adventure travel company processing credit card payments and banking cheques. He worked in almost every area of the business until finding that his passion was Sales where he could encourage others to travel. This is what led Sean to Wild Frontiers where he’s excited to be working with people who value getting authentic experiences out of every trip.

BEST TRAVEL MOMENTS

Favourite city

Reykjavik. You can swim in thermal pools, drive to magnificent waterfalls, walk on a glacier, and end the day watching the Aurora Borealis.

Favourite country

Tanzania. The landscape has always amazed me, from the dense forest of the Selous in the south, to the wide open space of the Serengeti in the North. The wildlife in all the National Parks was abundant, but seeing leopards in Tarangire was particularly special for me.

Favourite meal

It’s a choice between roadside samosas bought as we were leaving Kandy in Sri Lanka, Khashlama in Armenia or fillet steak in Bariloche Argentina.

Most memorable journey

Puerto Varas in Chile to Bariloche in Argentina. You drive up into the imposing Andes mountains, and sail across 3 beautiful lakes. Felix Frías in particular stands out in my memory with its steep fjord like walls, and stunning turquoise waters. You cross the border into Argentina at almost 1000m above sea level. The day ended with the fillet steak I mentioned above!

Favourite travel advice

The best memories are often from unplanned or unexpected experiences – so enjoy the diversions/delays.

Next on must-see list

Rajasthan – Seeing the Taj Mahal at sunrise has been a dream for many years, and I would love to see a tiger in the wild.
