Elewana Kilindi Zanzibar, Zanzibar

Kilindi was originally designed for Benny Andersson (of ABBA fame) and is a wonderful blend of traditional and quirky features to make for a superb spot to spend a few nights. There are 15 uniquely designed, domed pavilions set in the forest looking down towards the beach. The rooms are light and airy, with large windows that open up to provide stunning views towards the beach and the azure waters of the Indian Ocean. The beds are surrounded by a unique air-conditioning system to keep guests cool, whilst the en-suite bathrooms are well appointed with all of the amenities one could need. Private terraces with plunge pools are found in front of each pavilion, making for a great spot to relax and contemplate with views out across the sea. The main pavilion houses a restaurant and a stunning bar area which looks out across the large swimming pool. Treatments can be had at the spa and a variety of tours can be arranged such as trips to Stonetown, deep-sea fishing and walks in the Jozani Forest, as well as a full range of water sports activities and diving courses.
