Arriving in Kathmandu you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel.

After a chance to enjoy an optional early morning flight over the Everest ranges you will fly on to Pokhara later, to be driven on to the start of the trek. Following the trail through the lower foothills of the Annapurnas, you'll bask in some stunning views across the Pokhara and Modi Valleys, enjoying a picnic lunch en route, before arriving at the lodge later this afternoon. On arrival you can relax and enjoy some magnificent views of the sacred "Fishtail" Mountain of Machhapuchhre.

Leaving the lodge after breakfast, your journey takes you past the outlying farms this morning and along the course of the Modi River Valley. Leaving the valley behind you'll then climb towards the high mountain peaks, following a trail that takes you through small hamlets and past terraced rice fields and lush forests, before depositing you at your next lodge in Ghandruk some five hours later. From here the views of the surrounding mountains are truly a sight to behold.

Awaking to the sunrise lighting up the majestic Annapurna peaks, you might like to enjoy tea and coffee in the garden this morning, before joining your guide after breakfast on an exploratory walk through the village and the surrounding countryside. Ghandruk was once a major recruitment centre for the famous Gurkha regiment and today the village women still maintain a tradition for weaving beautifully made Nepalese rugs.

After a relaxing breakfast you'll set off for Lhandruk this morning, following a trail that initially descends steeply towards the Modi River. The base of these cliffs is where Nepal's famed honey hunters climb up to collect the honey. Crossing the river by suspension bridge, you'll then head up a series of switchbacks towards the village of Lhandruk. Arriving in time for lunch you can enjoy the glorious views, before joining your guide on a walk around the village later. Trek time around four hours.

The journey today follows the contours of the hill, negotiating an undulating trail that passes through a rural setting of villages and farmland. Leaving after breakfast, the trekking time on to the next lodge is around four hours, arriving in time for you to enjoy lunch before perhaps taking an optional hike later around the surrounding villages.

Beginning with the unspoiled village of Patlekhet, today's trek takes you through a sub-tropical landscape of tree orchids, magnolias and rhododendron forests. A stop at the village of Pothana provides a chance to see where many of the Tibetan traders live and sell their wares, before completing the journey on to the Basanta Lodge. From up here there are sweeping views across the entire Annapurna Range and after lunch you will be able to take a walk to the old village of Dhampus.

After an early breakfast you will set off along the ridge, before descending the wooded hillside towards the terraced farmland and the valley floor below. A short walk of around one and a half hours to the end of the trek, you will then be driven back to Pokhara by road. Should you wish to, you can make a stop at the Tibetan refugee camp on the way back, to spend a little time exploring the temple complex.

Transfer to the airport for the short flight back to Kathmandu. The rest of the day is at leisure to rest or explore the city independently.
